Professional Experience
During my third year as a Graphic Design Intern with the Briar Cliff Athletics Department, I created a wide range of digital graphics used across athletic programs, with a strong focus on men’s basketball program.
My work included gameday graphics, player highlights, commitment announcements, final scores, awards, schedule releases, starting lineups, and roster posts for social media. I also designed awards graphics for football and commitment, gameday posts for baseball. With another year working with the department, I created electronic score table graphics for the first time for game-day use.
What I learned
This role strengthened both my technical and professional skills. I regularly used Adobe Photoshop to design sports graphics and social media content and Adobe Illustrator to create vector-based designs, including a basketball warmup "Cliff Hoops" t-shirt logo and other scalable assets.
I learned how to work efficiently under tight deadlines, often completing and adjusting graphics the morning of game days. Communicating closely with the Sports Information Director taught me how to take feedback, make quick revisions, and ensure designs aligned with branding standards and team goals.

Conclusion
My experience with Briar Cliff Athletics has been a key part of my growth as a graphic designer in the sports world. Working directly with athletic staff, meeting high-pressure deadlines, and seeing my designs used on game days helped prepare me for professional design roles. This internship supported my passion for sports and graphic design and my chance to contribute impactful designs for the department.
