Professional Experience
During my first year as a Graphic Design Intern with the Briar Cliff Athletics Department, I created a wide range of sports graphics and social media content for all athletic programs on campus.
Using Photoshop for game-day graphics, player highlights, final scores, awards, commitments, schedules, starting lineups, and roster posts, and Illustrator for clean vector-based designs, I supported the visual presence of Briar Cliff Athletics across digital platforms. This role required producing content quickly and accurately, often meeting tight deadlines on the morning or day of games.
What I learned
This experience strengthened both my technical and professional skills. I learned how to design under pressure while maintaining brand consistency and visual quality.
Communicating closely with the Sports Information Director helped me understand expectations, workflows, and the importance of clear collaboration within an athletics department. Creating social media graphics for Briar Cliff Athletics for the first time taught me how design directly impacts fan engagement, athlete recognition, and overall program visibility.

Conclusion
My first year with Briar Cliff Athletics provided hands-on, real-world experience in sports graphic design and professional communication.
It helped me grow more confident in my design abilities, time management, and teamwork while working in a fast-paced environment. The projects highlighted reflect my growth as a designer and my ability to create effective, timely graphics that support and promote collegiate athletics.
